Taiwan was the first to prohibit the act of consuming cats and dogs in all of Asia. It's been said that anyone who buys or eats the meat will be imposed on a fine of $8,200. In 1998, Taiwan made it illegal to slaughter dogs and cats. However, a market underground decided to abide. Taiwan has doubled up on its fine. Those who eat meat will be fined up to $65,000. That’s not all, there will be two years of jail time incorporated. Quite a lot! Every year, in June, for ten days, China has a festival that has to do with the process of executing the dogs. Citizens of China see around 10,000 dogs killed before their eyes.
