If these events continue to befall, the water systems would fail to do its job and the food web could all perish. We need to look out for our environment more. If we weren’t to handle our environment now, it would become a catastrophe with tons of extinctions. Our future is dependent on where we live. We need to be aware of what we do in our everyday lives. A little mishap here and an explosion in another place. Why not look care for our world?

After the meal is eaten, families would sing carols on the streets. Some individuals bring brightly colored stars on poles when they go caroling. Ukraine’s famous carol is ‘Shchedryk’ (Carol of the Bells).
All over the world, people spend their Christmas in different ways; traditions are different. Some watch movies, bake sweets, countdown with an advent calendar, and spend Christmas outdoors. Traditions are traditions. They are fun and memorable.
Ottawa is a beautiful place. There are many things to do and many sites to visit. The word "Ottawa" is originally is derived from the Algonquin word "adawe," meaning "to trade." The word "adawe" refers to Indigenous individuals who hunt, fish, camp, and harvest plants. Ottawa got its name in 1855. Moving on to Brampton. Brampton is full of buildings, mostly houses. The population in Brampton is 593, 638. This is huge for Brampton. This is why there are more opportunities due to too many people. Below is a comparison between Brampton and Ottawa on employment, cultural importance, historical importance, livability, and sustainability.
Cultural Importance
Historical ImportanceHistoric Bovaird House - This monument is a way for the youth to look back to the past. The Historic Bovaird House shows the way of life of Pioneers in the 19th century. This historic structure was also used to display the Georgian-style brick farmhouse which was available in the 19th century. Ottawa has more historical sites than in Brampton. Parliament Hall has an amazing history behind it. In 1916, after the hall was built in 1866, a fire destroyed part of the building. Later in 1916, workers fixed the damages. Rideau Canal is another historic structure located in Ottawa. The river was given the name “Rideau” by Champlain, written by him in 1603 because of the appearance of Rideau Falls. Lastly, Jacques Cartier Park. This park is located along the Ottawa river. Jacques Cartier was a voyager who passed along the Ottawa river. That is why the park is named after him. Livability
SustainabilityBrampton is able to sustain air quality and green buildings. Brampton reduces its parking spaces to a minimum required. 5% of space is dedicated to car-pool, car-share, and low-E vehicles. Brampton designed street lights to reduce energy by 15%. They utilized LED lights which saves energy. Another way to be sustainable is promoting green roofs for large-high density residential spaces. Providing green roofs 80% of all high-density developments. Ottawa has an efficient water cleaning process. Therefore, Ottawa would be able to sustain their water supply. I think Brampton needs a bit more upgrades in regards to historical importance. There are not many historical sites in Brampton compared to Ottawa. Historical sites are important in every city, country, continent! It’s a great way to learn of how that architecture was built and what obstacles it had to overcome to get to the final stage. Workers rebuild structures after the damages that occur and we should be aware of that. Learning history can inform also inform us what had happened in the past for it to be like the way it is now. It's good to look back sometimes for knowledge. Taiwan was the first to prohibit the act of consuming cats and dogs in all of Asia. It's been said that anyone who buys or eats the meat will be imposed on a fine of $8,200. In 1998, Taiwan made it illegal to slaughter dogs and cats. However, a market underground decided to abide. Taiwan has doubled up on its fine. Those who eat meat will be fined up to $65,000. That’s not all, there will be two years of jail time incorporated. Quite a lot! Every year, in June, for ten days, China has a festival that has to do with the process of executing the dogs. Citizens of China see around 10,000 dogs killed before their eyes.
Plastic found in the oceans is a big deal for us. We might not realize this at first, but we are harming our own ecosystem. More than 90% of plastics are found in the oceans, and more than 8 million of our plastics ends up in the water bodies. Scientists have discovered that by 2050, there will be more plastics found in the oceans than marine species. The issue with plastic found in the water had begun many months or years back. This is not new. We continue to throw plastic in the wrong places. Species in the water are living things. We need to learn how to take care of them and our ecosystem. By throwing out the trash in the wrong places, we are killing those living species. Some ways we are harming the marine life is throwing out plastic in the bin when we can recycle, littering, and some daily used products go down the drain. In the end, all of this ends up in the oceans. Fishes can swallow our trash and die from that. Plastics are a big impact on the marine habitat as well. For example, the coral reefs are being damaged really badly. It has been said that the coral reefs are contaminated with plastic. The plastic clings to the coral especially the branching coral. The place that plastics stick to can kill or sicken the reef. When plastic is scraped against a coral, that can create a new opening. This new opening can then allow infections to travel in the coral and kill the habitat. This is how worst it can get for the water species. There are many people and companies trying to improve and resolve this situation. This includes Starbucks (got rid of straws), and Morrison's (a British supermarket, are using 100% brown recyclable paper bags). Slowly, and steadily, everyone is trying to improve. Some other people are turning plastic into something we can use or wear in our daily lives. Method introduced a hand soap in a bottle made from plastic debris. Pharrell Williams, singer, thought it would be a good idea to wear plastic. Pharrell partnered up with G-Star RAW. He is planning to introduce the world to denim jeans made entirely from ocean plastics. Ocean plastic is shredded into fiber alongside plastic water bottles, then formed into classy jeans, shirts, and hoodies. Until this point, this company has had refurbished around two million ocean plastics. Lastly, plastic bank had come up with a way to get rid of the plastic along the coastlines of the oceans and some that lie on the shores of the oceans. Plastic bank came up with a term called "social plastic," which treats abandoned plastic as a form of currency. Individuals in destitute communities collect plastics along the shores in exchange for WiFi access or electricity to charge their phones. What great ways people come up with to change the world! It’s not only the ocean that is going to suffer from all the plastic in the water. We are also going to suffer because we drink that same water after it’s filtered. There are invisible plastic particles found in the water we drink. These particles are called micro-plastics. They are fairly small but scientists have researched that it can harm our systems as well. Health researchers found that 90% of the micro-plastics are discovered in the bottled water. 90% of the world say it’s better to drink bottled water than tap water. Overall, we can say, the ones who drink water are getting what they deserve. We harm the marine ecosystem and we get the same thing back in the water we drink. Ways to help resolve this major problem is to quit using any plastic utensils or bags. There are many alternatives like glass, reusable shopping bags, and to recycle things you eat. The first step to changing the world starts from you. Help save the marine life and yourselves! If we don't fix this, sooner or later, we all would be in danger, and forget the marine life. It would all be gone. Map Action is all about saving lives in a matter of time. These groups of people would react to the aftermath of a disaster, the destruction of roads and the place itself, and the place where medical is eagerly needed. Map Action needs to know this information immediately in order to figure out the number of supplies needed to convey to that specific place. Map Action is available 24-48 hours of a disaster striking. Their team has over 70 trained individuals to help out. Map Action provides help without discernment and will provide help anywhere in the world.
Originally, Map action was developed by Rupert Douglas Bate. Map Action first came into action during 2003 to Lesotho. They were in need of food security. The year after, in 2004, a tsunami hit the Indian Ocean. A team of 16 traveled to Sri Lanka to resolve the disaster. Disasters can occur whenever and wherever. You can tell when it is coming only if you stay alert to the radio and weather conditions. Many floods have occurred in Nigeria. The flood has claimed around 200 lives and affected about 80% of the country. Map Action has sent out its people to help out those citizens. In conclusion, Map Action is there to help the lives of others at the of a disaster or a wreckage. There are many trained people to help others. We can help ourselves from stopping disasters to occur. There are many ways. It will happen if we understand those ways and actually try.
Kiev is a city full of big and bright colored architectures. This city is full of religious places. The center of attention to Kiev are mainly churches. Enjoy this presentation on the capital city of Ukraine, Kiev.
Natural disasters occur due to a variety of reasons. This could include the weather or movement of tectonic plates, which can cause a lot of disaster. Canada is the centre of attention to most avalanches or landslides. There are other disasters such as small earthquake or floods. In these conditions, Brampton should not worry! Canada is ranked fifth for the wealthiest country. If by chance, a natural disaster befalls in Brampton, there is no need to be concerned. Below is all the information on Brampton. Refer to the slideshow for each topic. The last two slides are the total number of risks in the area of Brampton. Distance From Mega Volcano: (First Slide)
If you live nearest to the mega volcano, the impacts of the lava and ashes would not be so great. Some individuals would have to evacuate their homes. Gladly, Brampton is a long way away from the mega volcano. The distance is about 1501 to 3000 km away. Citizens of Brampton compared to the citizens of Yellowstone are safer. People in Yellowstone are only 150 km away from the Yellowstone Mega Volcano. Height Of Land: (Second Slide) The increased of altitudes; temperatures drop further. Each degree colder makes life more threatening. The lower you live on the ground, the best it is for you. Brampton is 219.855 m from the lower ground. This is good for Bramptonians because their lives won’t be worth giving up for during the winter times. Climate: (Third Slide) Sulphur Dioxide and ash in our atmosphere block out the sunlight. Temperatures are dropping. The colder you feel now, the worst impacts will arise in the future. Brampton’s average is 10 degrees. The climate risk is in the middle range for us. Population Density: (Fourth Slide) During a natural disaster, the more people that live in your area, the more likely help would be needed. Brampton has a high risk in this situation. There are 289 people living per 250 square km. Level Of Wealth: (Fifth Slide) Prices of food and energy have soared high. This is because of the drop in supplies and buying a large quantity of specific product (panic buying). The wealthier the people in an area, the better chances you have to afford supplies and pay bills. In this case, Mexico is the closest to Canada. We have higher risks of survival in our area. The wealth per person in Mexico is $10, 600 (U.S. dollars). Traffic Data: (Sixth Slide) The amount of traffic in an area indicates how hard it would be to getting emergency help. Luckily, statistics on Brampton show that there are some delays. Other than that, we wouldn’t have to worry much about the traffic. Asthma: (Seventh Slide) People who experience asthma are more likely to be affected by the ash fallout. In Brampton, there is no one experiencing asthma as far as I know and see. Community Spirit: (Eighth Slide) The level of spirit in a community would be really helpful when a natural disaster takes place. In our community, there is a score of four for community spirit. In the case of a natural disaster, we would all be willing to help each other. Emergency Supplies: (Ninth Slide) In each country, the UN army helps distribute food and supplies after a disaster has occurred. In the worst case scenario, due to snow or ice or ash fallout and high fuel prices, you might need to walk to gather the supplies. The closer you are, the better chances you have for survival. Comparing this to Brampton, we are more than 9 km away from an emergency facility. This is not the best scenario for Bramptonians. Conclusion: Overall, Brampton has a score of 25 in terms of risk. This is not as bad compared to those with higher numbers. We are distant from most emergency centres, but can handle most situations. Our society is ready to help each other in the worst conditions!
Toronto is fascinating and full of great places to visit. It has everything a city needs. There is a complete street in Queens Quay, a little beach at the Harbourfront urban beach, and little shops to complete it all! Toronto was limited to all of these great adventures when it was first founded in the year 1793. Workers tried expanding the roads and shops for citizens to explore. By 2017, Toronto's unique places extended and are now home to many individuals. Your journey through Toronto starts right here!

You could say there are over 100 streets in Brampton. It’s hard to count. Sadly, there are no complete streets in Brampton. Any street you drive on will have a pedestrian walkway, car lanes, and sometimes bike lanes. We are refraining from the transit alleys. Buses also need their own lane so they could reach from place to place on time. It’s a haste with cars on the streets. Too many disasters. Fewer lanes for cars, the safer it is for us. This is why I chose Bovaird Drive East to imagine itself with a complete street. On this route, there is a hospital, residences are arranged, and a church nearby the hospital. I inserted two car lanes. These two lanes go in different paths. Besides that, I added a transit lane. This lane is primarily for all the public transits. Passengers can go on and off the transit at there given times. No delays! Beside the transit lane, is a bike lane. The bikeway is made a little distant from the car lane so there would be no problems with collisions. On the outside of the car lane, I decided to include a pedestrian pathway. Citizens that prefer to walk to their destinations can walk on the outsides of the lanes. Along the street, I attached bioswale trees. These are specific types of trees that get the soil they need from an operation underground. A reason to incorporate the trees is for precipitation to evaporate. Without these trees in our community, the rain would turn into a flood. These five elements in a street will make it safe for all individuals to engage in their community.
The legend on the bottom shows what each color/image depicts. As displayed, magenta is utilized for public transits, yellow is utilized for the pedestrians, turquoise is a bike passage, black roads are for cars, and the trees are bioswale. Go on and further explore our community in Brampton!
