Map Action is all about saving lives in a matter of time. These groups of people would react to the aftermath of a disaster, the destruction of roads and the place itself, and the place where medical is eagerly needed. Map Action needs to know this information immediately in order to figure out the number of supplies needed to convey to that specific place. Map Action is available 24-48 hours of a disaster striking. Their team has over 70 trained individuals to help out. Map Action provides help without discernment and will provide help anywhere in the world.
Originally, Map action was developed by Rupert Douglas Bate. Map Action first came into action during 2003 to Lesotho. They were in need of food security. The year after, in 2004, a tsunami hit the Indian Ocean. A team of 16 traveled to Sri Lanka to resolve the disaster. Disasters can occur whenever and wherever. You can tell when it is coming only if you stay alert to the radio and weather conditions. Many floods have occurred in Nigeria. The flood has claimed around 200 lives and affected about 80% of the country. Map Action has sent out its people to help out those citizens. In conclusion, Map Action is there to help the lives of others at the of a disaster or a wreckage. There are many trained people to help others. We can help ourselves from stopping disasters to occur. There are many ways. It will happen if we understand those ways and actually try.
